Edu — the education greenhouse
Designed for schools, colleges and universities: an education greenhouse — a real, professional greenhouse scaled to a campus, where students learn horticulture, technology and food systems by doing.

Learn by doing, on professional equipment
The Edu series brings the GrowPro platform to education, turning a professional education greenhouse into a teaching tool. It is not a scale model or a demo kit: an Edu greenhouse is built from the same Dutch Venlo components, climate systems and irrigation technology as our production models — configured for teaching instead of maximum output.
Every Edu project starts from a proven GrowPro base and is adapted to the institution:
- Campus footprint — typically starting from the Basic 1/4 acre format for schools and community programs, scaling to Expert-series hydroponics for colleges and universities running applied-research or production-training programs.
- Teaching layout — wider central paths for groups, demonstration zones alongside production rows, and space for benches, sensors and student projects.
- Real technology — a professional climate computer, screening and fertigation, so students work with the systems they will meet in commercial horticulture, not simplified stand-ins.
- Multiple cultivation systems side by side — soil beds, hydroponic gutters and table growing can be combined in one Edu greenhouse so curricula can compare methods directly.
GrowPro Academy, built in
Every Edu greenhouse includes GrowPro Academy: the Guided Growing AI assistant for day-to-day crop questions and diagnostics, plus Greenhouse Coach sessions that connect students and staff to real Westland specialists. The buddy system pairs your program’s lead — a teacher or facility manager — with a dedicated mentor.
Who Edu is for
Agricultural and horticultural schools, universities with plant-science or food-systems programs, community colleges building green-skills curricula, and municipalities creating learning gardens with serious ambitions. Several standard GrowPro models already serve as community, college and university greenhouses — Edu makes that configuration a first-class choice instead of an adaptation.
Edu projects are configured and priced per institution — footprint, cultivation systems and teaching facilities vary too much for a standard price list. Contact us for a tailored proposal, and note that education projects are often strong candidates for grants and incentives.

Start the conversationFrequently asked questions
Who is the Edu series for?
Schools, colleges, universities, community programs and municipalities that want students to learn horticulture on real professional equipment — from green-skills curricula to applied plant-science research.
How big is an Edu greenhouse?
Typically from the 1/4-acre campus format up to Expert-series scale for universities. The footprint is configured to your site, group sizes and curriculum.
Is it a real production greenhouse?
Yes — the same Venlo structure, climate computer, screening and irrigation as the production models, arranged for teaching: wider paths, demonstration zones and room for multiple cultivation systems side by side.
What does an Edu greenhouse cost?
Edu projects are priced per institution because footprint and teaching facilities vary. As a reference, standard GrowPro models start at €350,000 FOB for a 1/4-acre greenhouse — contact us for a tailored proposal.
Are there subsidies for education greenhouses?
Often, yes. Education and sustainability programs frequently qualify for grants and incentives — we pre-qualify serious projects and connect you to the right specialists.
